In Survenants/Revenants, a pair of kinetic lighting elements scan across an array of light sensors, arranged to create a room-sized map of travels I made through Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa a decade earlier. These sensors trigger and modulate one of 48 live Internet audio streams from the respective countries and regions represented on the map. The resulting soundscape is constantly in flux, combining clear, singular voices with clouds of accumulated textures.
